Obituary for Victoria Foster

VICTORIA “VICKI” FOSTER, age 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at her home. Devoted wife to the late Anthony J. Foster. Loving mother to Kristen Young and her husband, Steve; Adam Foster and his wife, Theresa; and Jan Sutton and her husband, Justin. Beloved grandmother to Amelia Young, Rachel Young, Henry Young, Anthony Foster, Tyler Sutton, Nicholas Foster, and Noah Sutton. Dear sister to Vincenza McGinnis, Ann Camarote, and the late Jeanette Scirrotto. Victoria was predeceased by her parents, Mario and Maria Salvatori.

Vicki was only 37 years of age when her husband Anthony passed away, leaving her three small children to raise, a struggling business to manage, and burden of becoming the sole provider. She took the role of Mother and Father, never complained, and providing for her children in every possible way. Despite not working in almost 20 years, and not finishing college, she secured a management position at a fortune 500 company through hard work, strength, and integrity. She lived her life in faith over fear. Regardless of several financial difficulties, she managed to send her children to private school and college. In addition, Vicki instilled her children with vital Christian values and to be ethical, strong, and hard-working adults.

Vicki thought of herself as a comedian, always cracking jokes and finding humor in all situations. She adored her children and supported them with all her heart. However, it was her grandchildren that kept her young at heart. She had a special connection with each of them in a different way, whether it was sitting at her table listening to her South Philly stories or a quirky, funny text. Every conversation started with “tell me what the kids are up to” and ended with “give my love to those buttercups or men”. We can say with true conviction, she will never miss one of their events; she will be there in true Old Chicken, Old Granny or Big Red Sprit.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Wednesday, January 19, 2022, from 10:45am until 12:15pm at LOUIS A. DiGIACOMO, INC. FUNERAL HOME, 1055 Southampton Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116, followed by services 12:15pm at the funeral home. Interment Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville, Pennsylvania.
