Obituary for Paul H. Glemser
PAUL (BUDDY) HENRY GLEMSER of Horsham passed away peacefully Thursday, April 9, 2020. He was 78. Devoted husband of Annette C. Glemser (nee Miroddi). Buddy was the loving father of Eric Glemser (Stephanie), Tina (Michael Fedorak) and Michelle Glemser. Dear brother to Lawrence, James (the late Jane), and Gregory Glemser. He was also a beloved Uncle to many nieces and nephews. However, nothing made him more proud than being the Pop-Pop to Evan and Emma (Fedorak), Luca and Colton Glemser.
Buddy was the son of the late Herbert J. and Margaret (Hyland) Glemser. He attended Abington High School, and Miami Military Academy, and proudly served in the United States Navy. He graduated from Delaware State University with a degree in Education. He was the owner of Glemser Painting and found joy in his work and the friendships he kindled over the years. Paul was married to Annette for nearly 48 years, and loved to share the story of how they met and fell in love whenever he had the chance. He loved making his family and friends laugh, but sports were his passion.
Buddy coached Hatboro-Horsham Boys Basketball for 21 years, Bishop McDevitt Baseball for 20 years, and football for many years at Gwynedd Mercy Academy Elementary Division and Sandy Run Middle School. He was also a president and coach of HHYBA (Hatboro-Horsham Youth Basketball Association). Buddy loved to share stories about the players he coached and formed life long friendships with many, especially his undefeated 1991-1992 9th Grade HH Boys Basketball Team.
Paul loved his breakfasts with his best friend John “Big J” Carroll and the rest of the crew. He enjoyed taking care of the yard and flowers, and “doing” the wash (while destroying the clothes). He loved sleeping on the Brigantine beach, listening to his radio and dancing, feeding his pets and neighborhood strays, eating his cakes while making the best coffee, losing the “clicker” (TV remote) and telling stories and jokes. He was always the life of the party and will be truly missed by all.
The family will plan a service in the near future once social gathering guidelines due to the pandemic are relaxed. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Horsham Township in c/o Paul Glemser Memorial Bench, 1025 Horsham Road, Horsham, PA 19044.
