Obituary for Marian E. Duffner
MARIAN E. DUFFNER (nee Mortimer), age 92, passed away peacefully at her home on November 24, 2022, with her loving family by her side. Devoted wife to the late George J. Duffner. Loving mother to George Duffner (Lisa), John Duffner (Lisa), Marianne Scott, Robert Duffner (Helen), Michael Duffner (Annemarie), Francis Duffner, and Theresa Green (John). Beloved grandmother to Sarah, Christopher (Jordan), Alyssa, Jacqueline, Nicole (Felipe), Alexander, Emily, Kelly, Mary, Shane, Colin, Gavin, Meghan, Francis, Catherine, Francis, and Amanda. Cherished great grandmother to Adam. Dear sister to the late John Mortimer (the late Ruth) and the late Francis Mortimer (Barbara). Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Marian was born and raised in the Frankford section of Philadelphia. After graduating from Frankford High School, she worked at Sears, where she met her husband George, who had just returned home from fighting in World War II. After marrying, they moved to Somerton and began building their beautiful family of seven children. Marian and her husband were well-known members of the community and Marian was always involved in St. Christopher’s parish, where all of her children attended school. Marian’s favorite place was down the shore at Townsend’s Inlet, where she spent her summers as a child and vacations for the rest of her life, surrounded by her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Friday evening, December 2, 2022, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and Saturday morning, December 3, 2022, from 8:45am until 9:45am at Louis A. DiGiacomo Funeral Home, Inc., 1055 Southampton Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116, followed by funeral mass 10:30am at St. Christopher Church, 13301 Proctor Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
