Obituary for Kazimierz S. Werc

KAZIMIERZ S. WERC, age 90, a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, passed away peacefully at his home on November 22, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Devoted husband for 58 years to Joan Werc (nee Boylan). Loving father to Juliet Cleary (Kevin), Cynthia Morris (Brian), and the late Richard Werc. Beloved grandfather (Dziadziu) to Shane, Regan, Kelly, Declan and Molly. Dear brother to Barbara Swidzinska (the late Adam) and the late Krystyna Dziemska (the late Juliusz), also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Kaz was a master chess player who loved kayaking, canoeing, and sailing on the Chesapeake. He loved playing chess and charades with his grandkids. He was a devoted Catholic and financial secretary for the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed the simple things in life like a glass of wine or beer and dancing. Many special memories were made at Wigilia where he kept family and Polish traditions forever in our hearts.

Relatives, friends, members of Chaturanga Chess Club and Knights of Columbus Mother Anna Dengel Council #7925 are invited to his viewing Sunday evening, November 27, 2022, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at L. A. DiGiacomo, Inc. Funeral Home, 1055 Southampton Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116, and to his funeral mass Monday morning, November 28, 2022, at 10:00am at St. Albert the Great Church, 212 Welsh Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. There will be NO viewing Monday morning. Interment National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, 654 Ferry Road, Doylestown, PA 18901.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery at the above address.
