Obituary for Josephine Adelizzi (Lanzalone)
JOSEPHINE “Dolly” ADELIZZI (nee Lanzalone), age 97, of Somerton, passed away peacefully at Gloria Dei Memory Care on June 1, 2022. Devoted wife to the late Salvatore M. Adelizzi. Loving mother to Michael A. Adelizzi and his wife, Christine; Diane M. Zapisek and her husband, Ed; and Robert P. Adelizzi and his late wife, Eileen. Beloved grandmother to Lauren, Therese, Matthew, Nicholas, Vincent, Gregory, Mary Kate, Stephen, and Owen. Cherished great grandmother to Leah, Lorelei, Thomas, Michael, Harvey, Emily, Norah, Joseph, Dominic, Clark, and Andrew. Dear sister to Dorothy Gentilcore and her late husband, Leonard; Jerry Lanzalone and his late wife, Gloria; the late Rita Scariato and her late husband, Albert; and the late Geraldine Adelizzi and her husband, Joseph.
Josephine was the first born and enjoyed bringing together her family and friends for many celebrations. She lost her beloved husband Sal 45 years ago and was looking forward to the day when they would be “together again”.
She did embrace life and loved to travel, especially to the beach in Siesta Key, FL with her sister Dorothy. Josephine’s pride and joy were her grandchildren. She would get them to dance with her to Perry Como singing “The Best of Times”.
The best of times is now,
As for tomorrow, well who knows,
So hold this moment fast,
And live and love as hard as you know how.
Josephine will be eternally loved and remembered for her goodness and laughter by everyone whose life she touched.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Monday, June 13, 2022, from 9:30am until 10:45am at St. Christopher Church, 13301 Proctor Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116, immediately followed by her funeral mass 11:00am. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Christopher Church Capital Campaign at the above address.
