Obituary for Joseph Francis Altomare
JOSEPH F. ALTOMARE, age 67, passed away peacefully at his home on January 19, 2023. Devoted husband to Laura (nee Fleischer) for 30 years, of which he made her laugh every day. Loving father to Jeff Cohen (Andrea), Rachel Maleski (Jason), and Joanna Parker (Bobby). Beloved grandfather to Autumn, Brianna, Zachary, Samantha and Sarah. Everything he did was for his family.
Joe, a lifelong Philadelphian, graduated from Northeast Catholic High School and Holy Family University. He retired from the Internal Revenue Service after a successful career in Human Resources, and then devoted much of his time to volunteering for the American Red Cross. If Joe wasn’t with family or friends or watching sports, he was always on the search for a good bargain, especially if it meant surprising a loved one with something special. Joe’s humor and wit, especially his semi-autobiographical stories, lit up every room he was in.
