Obituary for James F. Gavarone
JAMES F. GAVARONE, age 86, former Chief of Enforcement - Licenses and Inspection for the City of Philadelphia and US Navy Veteran who served on the USS Benham (DD796), passed away peacefully on September 30, 2022. Devoted husband to Cheryle “Cher” Shirley. Loving father to James F. Gavarone, III (Therese); Donna Marie Gavarone, D.O. (Ernest Angiolillo); Ronald Wombough; and Christie Pinillini. Beloved grandfather to Christina, Cara, Jimmy IV, Maria, Michael, Jenna, Vincent, Alena and Tyler. Dear brother to Anthony Gavarone (the late Patricia) and Roseann Gavarone.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 8:30am until 9:45am at Louis A. DiGiacomo Funeral Home, Inc., 1055 Southampton Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116, immediately followed by services 9:45am at the funeral home. Interment with military honors at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
