What a personal heartfelt loss I feel in the passing of Gene. Gene and I have been friends for so many years. We shared many a laugh, sorrow and happiness together. Gene could always be counted on to bring a positive light and laughter to whatever unpleasant situation arose. I think our biggest hurt and loss was when Gene and I lost Chuck O'Hanlon, we both wept together like a couple of young school kids, and we both carried that loss with us throughout the years, as we often talked about it. Our happiest times were when we were riding and practicing for the thrill show. Gene brought so much laughter, camaraderie and professionalism to the team, and he was an excellent rider, as well as, a caring, stand up guy, cops cop and loyal friend. Gene has certainly left his mark in life with a fond lasting impression on the people who knew him, as well as, many happy memories with the friends who loved him. Personally speaking, Gene's passing has left a void in my life, and I will surely miss him very much.
