Obituary for Assunta C. Valente (Pacitti)

ASSUNTA C. VALENTE (nee Pacitti), age 82, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2022. Devoted wife of 62 years to Michael Valente. Loving mother to Maria Capozzi (Anthony) and the late Lucia Fiorelli. Beloved Nonna to Danielle, Alexandra, Michelle, and Francesca. Dear sister to Antonio Pacitti (Gina) and the late Palmina Pacitti.
Assunta Pacitti-Valente was born on May 19, 1940, in the small town of Cerasuolo, Lazio, Italy to the late Francesco and Maria Pacitti.

Growing up, Assunta learned the importance of hard work through farming, family through her parents and siblings, and faith through her deep love for God - all values she would bring along with her as she immigrated with her husband, Michael Valente, to America in 1959. Here, in Philadelphia, Michael and Assunta started their little, blessed family with their two daughters, Maria and Lucia. Assunta worked hard as a seamstress for many years sewing mens' suit jackets to assure her daughters had a good, Catholic education all the way through their college degrees.

As her daughters grew, Assunta's main role as "Mom" changed to "Nonna" as she was blessed with four beautiful granddaughters, Danielle, Alexandra, Michelle and Francesca, who she would spend the next 29 years loving unconditionally. As the girls grew older, Assunta would not only act as their grandmother, but one to countless of their friends who would come to know and love her just as much.

That is truly how Assunta's legacy will live on - through the connections she made and the love she shared with everyone who crossed her path. She will be missed by many dearly, but the strong foundation of hard work, love and faith she built will be passed down for generations to come.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Tuesday, December 6, 2022, from 9:30am until 10:45am at St. Christopher Church, 13301 Proctor Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116., immediately followed by her funeral mass, 11:00am. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
