Message to the Family: Kathy and I met in the early 70's while I was dating her brother Jim. We immediately became very close friends. We were just a year apart in age and our children were very close in ages also. My children and I spent a good deal of time at Kathy's home. My daughter Danielle loved going to Kathy's because of Kathie's two daughters. My son Brett felt a little out of place at times being the only boy and Kathy was always so gracious to him by inviting him to help her do something that she told him she had saved just for him to do for her because the girls wouldn't want to do that kind of work. He was always willing to help her with anything she needed done. Brett dearly loved Kathy. My job moved me to Texas and Kathy and I lost contact with each other. At some point I moved back to the area and we were able to reconnect with each other and I visited her a few times in the nursing home. Kathy and I shared a deep passion of watching movies and we both liked some of the older ones the best. I started sending her the "People" magazines to her when I was finished reading them so she could keep up with the "Stars". I have some beautiful memories of Kathy, and I will always be grateful for the way she treated my son Brett. When there was a get together with family or friends, you could always find the children hovering near Kathy. I have no doubt that when Kathy arrived in Heaven she was placed where she was needed the most and that of course would be near the children. I Love you Kathy, May you rest in Peace. Love, Penny
